Istanbul in August
Istanbul in August
After July, August is still the warmest month in Istanbul, with an average temperature of 28°C and 40 mm of precipitation. August may be hot and humid, but it is the ideal month for going to the beach and spending time outside. The additional humidity may make it seem much hotter. It is possible to get extremely bright and clear days. Outdoor concerts, parades, and a variety of music performances and festivals are also popular during this period. The city is packed and bustling with visitors and residents alike. For warmer days and nights, we suggest bringing summer clothes, such as shorts, skirts, t-shirts, beachwear, and sandals.
There are so many things to do in Istanbul that it is impossible to include all of the top attractions. We've compiled a list of the most intriguing ones that are most appropriate for August.
Visit the Cool Basilica Cistern
The cistern, one of Istanbul's most magnificent and mysterious structures, is a very calm and serene area communicated by the columns via majestic arches. The columns, which include the fabled Medusa Heads, were assembled from old buildings and fashioned from various types of marbles.
The Basilica Cistern Museum is one of the city's most magnificent and mysterious structures. The two Medusa Heads, which serve as supports under the two columns at the cistern's northwest border, are the most interesting and draw the most attention.
Cruise on the Bosporus
On a 2 to 3 hour private cruise through some of Istanbul's most renowned landmarks, you may enjoy a unique sightseeing experience on the Bosphorus from the private deck of your boat. From the large upper fly-bridge, you may appreciate the magnificent landscape with 360-degree views, or rest in luxury on the sun deck or in the cozy outdoor and interior lounges. You may relax and unwind while on the cruise by drinking a cup of tea, coffee, or an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage or cocktail. A more pleasant alternative to Bosphorus day cruises, particularly on these hot summer days. Don't be put off by the price range; there are boats to suit any budget.
Explore Isfanbul Theme Park
Isfanbul (previously Vialand) is one of Istanbul's and Europe's finest theme parks, including attractions for both children and adults. Isfanbul is unique in that it is not only a theme and amusement park, but also a massive complex that includes a theme park, retail, entertainment, and exhibition centers all in one location. With your family and friends, you may experience the magnificent and enchanting world of Isfanbul Theme Park. Enjoy the world's fourth largest roller coaster, as well as a selection of thrilling rides and attractions. You may also spend your free time exploring the park's retail center.
Tour of Hagia Sophia
This is a must-see attraction on every Istanbul itinerary. The world-famous Hagia Sophia Museum would be the first visit if you just had one day in Istanbul. It is a former church and mosque that was deemed one of the world's finest architectural achievements and acknowledged as the world's eighth wonder in 325. It's like entering into the sacred worlds of Christianity and Islam, which have combined on the shell-like apse and under an enormous dome, in a strange and mystical atmosphere with a diverse variety of architectural and art works dating back thousands of years. Golden Christian mosaics and vivid Byzantine paintings, for example.
Visit to the Princes' Islands
The Princes' Islands, formerly the leisure island of Byzantine Princes, are now one of Istanbul's finest protected natural regions and attractions, with beautiful pinewood landscape. It is one of Istanbul's best attractions and weekend getaways for both residents and visitors. You may take a one-hour cruise to the islands, then spend the day taking a horse-drawn carriage tour of the island, relaxing in a café by the water, and eating lunch at a local seafood restaurant. You may also spend a romantic night at one of the island's charming hotels.
