Istanbul in Summer
Istanbul in Summer
There has never been a better time to visit Istanbul than now, with flight rates at an all-time low. Istanbul is a megacity of unexpected pockets of culture galore just waiting to be found by the adventurous traveller, even though the popular tourist spots are sparsely populated. Istanbul Travel takes a look at certain interesting places to explore.
It is possible to get very sunny and clear days. Outdoor concerts, parades, and a number of music concerts and festivals are also common during this period. The area is very packed and bustling, with visitors and residents alike. For hot days and nights, we suggest bringing summer clothes, such as shorts, skirts, t-shirts, beachwear, and sandals.
Moda Beach
The name is a dead giveaway: anywhere that uses the globally recognized term for "fashionable" is guaranteed to be worth a look, and Moda beach does not disappoint. Moda is Istanbul's tidy, charming, and bohemian neighborhood, situated on a tiny hill above the commotion of Kadikoy, Istanbul's Asian side key harbor.
The neighborhood is compact, but there's something for everyone: drink a one-lira Turkish coffee with hundreds of locals at one of the massive cliffside cafés overlooking the Bosphorus, hole up in a suave craft beer or coffee outpost in one of the inner streets, or simply stroll around admiring the greenery adorning every avenue. Use Locally Istanbul for a more nuanced and historical rundown, as they provide tours focusing on less-traveled areas all over the world, ensuring that your Istanbul travel is completely immersive.
International Istanbul Music Festival
Rock listeners from all over the world flock to this concert, which attracts visitors from all over the world. This is the most prestigious event on the city's schedule, with music ranging from rock to classical. It contains no less than 30 productions of classical music, opera, and dance in historic places, including the Haghia Irene cathedral, which provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see its interior.
Go to Princess Islands
The Princes' Islands archipelago is a great way to get away from Istanbul city. We recommend visiting during the summer weekdays rather than weekends, when the islands are overrun with Istanbul residents and visitors. Tiny beaches (unfortunately without sand) can be found on the islands, allowing you to rest and swim in the Sea of Marmara.
Go to Şile
It's time to escape to ile in the summer. This small seaside town, located an hour northeast of Istanbul on the Black Sea coast, is home to many picturesque rocky bays and sandy beaches. While the sea can be harsh at times, a steady breeze keeps it calm on the beach. Sile could be the right option for you if you don't like the beach or the water.
While having some of Istanbul's most stunning beaches, Sile's true potential stems from its various tourist attractions, including the mesmerizing Sile Lighthouse, the Sile Fortress, numerous Istanbul museums, and more. Sile also holds a yearly festival in Istanbul that includes fashion shows and concerts. Sile also has some of Istanbul's historical sites. If you're in Turkey, you can certainly check out what Sile has to do.
Istanbul Shopping Festival
For the duration of the event, over ninety shopping malls stay open until 2 a.m., and several stores in Istanbul offer significant discounts. Special activities in Istanbul are held, and new fashions are shown.
International Istanbul Jazz festival
Another festival for music lovers, or just for those who want to unwind with some smooth jazz notes, this one is for you! An worldwide festival showcasing classical jazz, drum & bass, world music, and even rock. Keith Jarret, Wynton Marsalis, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Lou Reed, and Patti Smith have all performed before. During your Istanbul tour, you can experience the old Istanbul city soul and blues vibes at this festival.
