Histor of the Istanbul Toy Museum
The Istanbul Toy Museum, established on April 23, 2005 by Sunay Akin, a famous poet and writer, houses the most important examples of toy history from the 1700s to the present. Sunay Akin's toys, which he bought and collected from collectors, antique shops, and auctions in more than 40 nations over a 20-year trip, are on exhibit in a historical home for anybody interested.
These one-of-a-kind toys also offer tourists with a fun and interesting way to learn about history across the globe (For instance, Moon landing efforts are told in the section where space toys are exhibited). The museum attracts not only children, but also adolescents and adults, giving an opportunity for three generations to spend valuable time together. As previously mentioned, the Istanbul Toy Museum was established by Sunay Akin, a well-known poet and writer. The museum's décor was overseen by Aydan Dogan, a stage designer. The Toy Museum, created by a poet and constructed by a theatrical designer, is the world's "first museum."
Inside Istanbul Toy Museum
The Istanbul Toy Museum is located in the Sunay Akin family's ancient palace. Over 4,000 toys from 40 different countries have been gathered on five floors of the old home over the period of 20 years. These one-of-a-kind toys were first sorted by subject before being moved to specially created locations inside the rooms and hallways. These sections include subjects such as Native Americans, Space, and Submarines, among others. The collection includes one-of-a-kind artifacts like Fawn Zeller's Mona Lisa doll, which is the only one in the world. The Istanbul Toy Museum is especially helpful if you are visiting Istanbul with your child since it is a kid-favorite attraction.
