Ataşehir district - Istanbul

Ataşehir Istanbul

The district of Ataşehir is located in Istanbul, Turkey. It is situated at the intersection of the O-2 and O-4 motorways in Istanbul's Anatolian side, bordered on the north of Ümraniye. You may want to see the skyscrapers in Ataşehir when you visit Istanbul!

Metropol Istanbul Tower 1 (70 stories, 301 meters tall with its twin spires) is the tallest skyscraper in Ataşehir, Istanbul, and Turkey as of 2020. It is a mixed-use building with three buildings and a shopping center in Istanbul.

Ataşehir district is the result of a project to build a satellite town. The project began in 1993, and by 2005, Ataşehir had established itself as a desirable business zone for building societies such as Ağaoğlu, which had made significant investments in the region. In a flash, skyscrapers and tall buildings emerged as silhouettes.

Ataşehir became a new and upscale town as a result of this shift in size. At the same time, the population grew rapidly, and Ataşehir was granted its own city hall in 2008, after being split from the Kadıköy district. Before 2009, the districts of Kadıköy, Üsküdar, Ümraniye, and Kartal were split into the present-day Ataşehir. Ataşehir's initial housing development contained 18,000 high-rise condominiums and luxurious homes for 80,000 residents with higher incomes. In 2005, Ataşehir received an award for being a great area to live in Istanbul. In 2006, the site had 8596 housing units, which housed nearly 35,000 residents. New developments are also being made on the district's last vacant lots.

Houses in Ataşehir

There were no single-family house styles built for Ataşehir's residents, unlike in Başakşehir, another satellite city on Istanbul's west side. The majority of the structures in Ataşehir are high-rise buildings, and some of them (particularly around the district's main public squares) are among Istanbul's tallest skyscrapers. When new developments were built, Ataşehir became a clean and prestigious neighborhood where residents could feel fortunate because of the numerous amenities and services available. Restaurants, cafes, shopping centers, security facilities, beaches, sporting fields, jogging zones, cycling roads, and other historical spots in Istanbul can be found in Ataşehir. Apart from friends, Yeditepe University students choose to live in this district to be close to the university. They will find anything they need for their student lives within the limits of Ataşehir, including print shops and stationary. If you live here, you won't have to go far for everything because Ataşehir has almost everything you need. travel Istanbul to live in Atasehir now!

As Ataşehir's investment in Istanbul pattern persists, the district has expanded westward, becoming 'West Ataşehir.' The central Ataşehir became known as "East Ataşehir" and was sometimes referred to as "Old Ataşehir." Today, investments and constructions are progressing rapidly, as West Ataşehir will soon be home to the new Financial Business in Istanbul. A few well-known shopping malls within the district's boundaries include Optimum AVM, Palladium, Carrefour, Mozaik ÇArşı, and Novada. These malls are often owned by housing estates. Metropol Istanbul is another mixed-use housing project that will house Europe's tallest hotel. Entertainment places such as Ülker Sport Arena, a well-known basketball court, is also in Ataşehir. This arena also hosts concerts in Istanbul by national and foreign singers and groups such as Andrea Bocelli, Jennifer Lopez, and Cirque du Soleil.

Most people may believe that Ataşehir is an ideal place to live in Istanbul, and they may be right, but don't forget about the traffic congestion created by bad infrastructure planning. Buses and dolmush (dolmuş) buses are the only modes of public transit available. There are currently no subway lines that run directly through the city. If further funding and new ventures are planned to improve the north-eastern Ataşehir area, this will continue to be a major issue.
