History and Location

Pera Museum, located in BeyoÄŸlu, was founded by Suna and Ä°nan KÄ±raÃ§ Foundation in 2005. It is one of the most impressive and qualified art museums in Istanbul. There are rich collections and archives, and the museum exhibits different artworks in many languages.Â

Due to its closeness to Masumiyet Museum and Istanbul Modern Art Museum, Pera Museum attracts the attention of tourists. Plus, the museum has an amazing view of the Bosphorus that impresses everyone!

Inside Look

Museumâ€™s main collection is thought to consist of Orientalist paintings and Ottoman tiles. Besides the classical collections and archives, the gallery has the works of the new generation of modern artists. This is the reason for the museum's wide-range artistic structure.Â

Besides the collections and archives, Pera Museum enables students to watch films for free every Wednesday. It is called Young Wednesday because the actual aim is to direct young people to visit museums. There is a Pera Movie and Video section that includes a cinema hall for movie screenings.Â

The Museum is also accessible to wheelchair users and other visitors who need to avoid stairs. Elevators are located throughout the building. Wheelchair-accessible restrooms are available.

Pera Cafe & Artshop

If you get tired and are looking for a convenient place to relax in the museum, Pera Cafe is for you! You can relax and socialize in Pera Cafe. The menu of the Cafe includes a wide range of offerings; from salads, sandwiches, special portions of pasta to high-quality pastries. Occasionally, Pera CafÃ© provides special menus of different thematic world cuisines as well.Â

In the Artshop, there is a wide range of specially designed products which you can purchase as a souvenir. Artshop is open between 10.00 â€“ 19.00 Tuesday - Saturday and between 12.00 â€“ 18.00 on Sundays. Don't forget that it is closed on Mondays!
