Istanbul in October
Think an autumn trip to Istanbul would be a good idea? You may be searching for a family adventure or a cultured city break for yourself. In our opinion, October is the best month to visit Istanbul. It's likely that you'll enjoy warm weather, easy exploration, and beautiful vistas and sunsets throughout your stay. In addition to the year-round attractions in Istanbul, there are more cultural events at this time of year than at any other. Famous sites have shorter lines than in the summer, and most locations are far less busy than they were over the summer. People go about their daily business on the streets, while sidewalk cafés provide you a place to sit in the sunlight.
Visit Galata Tower
Octobre is a great month for this. When you go to purchase your tickets, you won't have to wait too long, and the weather will be pleasant while you wait. The views of Sultanahmet and the Topkapi Palace are breathtaking once you reach the summit - there's a new elevator to assist. If you suffer from vertigo, we don't recommend going on this trip. Our Petraki Place short stay apartments are ideal for those who want a more private, less risky, but yet quite comparable perspective.
Eat Fish in Karakoy
Karaköy, a historic suburb just down the hill from Galata, surrounds the waters of the Golden Horn and has been a destination for fresh, tasty fish for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. According to Turkey's For Life, Karaköy has experienced some recent changes, but it remains a charming neighborhood to explore and meet the numerous well-fed street cats.
A typical grilled mackerel sandwich 'balk ekmek' may be enjoyed while you wait for the boat at a modest kiosk near the ferry station. It's easy to be inspired by what's on display and prepare it yourself in your apartment's kitchen if you're feeling a little adventurous.
Visit Istiklal Street for a Walk
Probably the city's most renowned street, Istiklal Street is a hub for nightlife and entertainment. You can find all kinds of stores, cafés and street performances on this lengthy pedestrian strip. Visit Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, St. Anthony of Padua Church, and Pera Museum while you're at the hotel! Enjoy a meal or a snack at one of the charming restaurants along Istiklal Street as you walk and take in the vibrant environment.
Dinner Cruise on the Bosphorus
In the evening, this is one of the city's most popular activities. Tourists that wish to experience a distinctive Istanbul attraction are most likely to choose this trip. Dinner cruises depart from the Kabatas pier every day at around 20:00 and last for about 3 hours, according to the typical itinerary. Whilst enjoying your dinner and cruising down the Bosphorus, you'll be delighted by traditional belly dancing, an oriental performance, a henna ceremony, folk dancing and a live DJ among others. Historic landmarks, such as the Ottoman palaces, as well as beautiful bridges lit by the moonlight, will be on display for you to enjoy.
