What to do in Cihangir in Istanbul
In Istanbul, there is an area where caricaturists, artists, and performers dwell. A "bohemia" with cafés where conversations on theater, movies, literature, and philosophy take place. Cihangir is my name. A beautiful August morning. We have arrived at Cihangir. One of Istanbul's most beautiful areas has already welcomed the dawn. The streets are lively, but there are no unhappy individuals rushing around in a hurry trying to get somewhere. This location does not appear to be a five-minute walk from Taksim. It seems more like an Aegean fishing community on the beach. It's quite relaxing, tranquil, and comfy. It appears like everyone has come for a vacation.
Breakfast in Cihangir
Cihangir is one of Istanbul's top breakfast spots. We plan to go to the district's mukhtar for information on the district and to inquire where we should go and what sights we should see once we have our meal here. "Hello!" we say to one of the shops. "We're on the lookout for the mukhtar..." You'll never guess what the solution was! "Which one is it?" While we would expect each district to have one mukhtar, Cihangir has four. We discovered something interesting when attempting to find out what was causing this unusual situation: the district we're calling Cihangir isn't precisely Cihangir.
You shouldn’t also be surprised when you see the beautiful view of the Bosphorus, Üsküdar, the Maiden’s Tower, when you climb the stairs.
Cafes of Cihangir
There are several cafés where you may have a conversation while drinking, eating, and relaxing. Susam, Kahvedan, Meyra (previously Leyla), and Smyrna are the most popular. You may get fish at Doga Balik, and you can hug the sea by going down to the beach through the steps to Fndkl.
The lexical meaning of the word “Cihangir” is “The person that captured the major part of the world”; however, it is weird that such an ambitious word is the name of this mild district. To find out the fact, we need to go back to the past, to Suleiman the Magnificent. Suleyman the Magnificent had a son from Hürrem Sultan, named Cihangir.
