Topkapi Palace Museum Tour
Topkapi Palace has a long history dating back to the 15th century. Mehmed the Conqueror had it built in 1460, and Ottoman sultans and royal family lived there until 1856.
Topkapi Palace, the most exquisite example of Classical Ottoman architecture, fell out of favor in the nineteenth century. Sultans relocated to Dolmabahce Palace on the Bosphorus, which has Neo-Classical and Baroque architecture. The ancestral mansion, Topkapi Palace, was not fully abandoned, however.
Strong emperors like Suleiman the Magnificent were hospitable in this lowly castle when the Ottoman Empire was spread across three continents and reached its furthest frontiers. The Palace is made up of four big courtyards and a naturalistic construction. On average, a tour to the palace takes 3 hours.

For many years, Konyali Restaurant was housed in the Mecidiye Pavilion in the 4th courtyard, but has since relocated to the ancient Police Station Building in the 1st courtyard. In this well-known restaurant, you may sample genuine Ottoman cuisine.
