It is the first mosque built for Muslims after the conquest of the city of Constantinople (Istanbul) in 1616. It is considered one of the most important architectural masterpieces in the history of the Ottoman Empire. The most important feature of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque is its huge building, topped by six minarets. The old city near the Islamic Museum - Topkapi Palace. The Sultan Ahmed Mosque is distinguished by its unique design, blended with two centuries of Ottoman architecture. It combines the ecclesiastical architectural design corresponding to it, "Hagia Sophia" with traditional Islamic architecture. It is considered the last large mosque built from the classical period, designed by the engineer Sadiq Muhammad Ahmad Aya, by collecting the ideas of Mimar Sinan, which is characterized by the enormity and splendor of architecture in the era of the Ottoman Empire. The most important tourist attraction centers in Istanbul, the mosque is also buzzing with the movement of worshipers during the times of the five daily prayers, Friday prayers, and Tarawih prayers in the blessed month of Ramadan

Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul is considered one of the most important and most famous mosques ever in the world, and it is also known as the "Blue Mosque" because its interior walls are decorated with blue Iznik tiles. The distinctive ceramics were brought from the city of Iznik and designed the lower floors and all the interior columns of the mosque, with more than fifty different designs of chrysanthemums covered with more than 20,000 ceramics in the traditional Anatolian style and the designs in the exhibition grounds are flowers, fruits, and cypress

The ceramics were made by the best craftsmen in Iznik. The reflection of the sun’s rays that sneaks into the mosque through the windows gives the blue tiles a wonderful view. The mosque is characterized by the fingerprints of Byzantine and Ottoman architecture and its location overlooking the Marmara Sea and facing it. For the Hagia Sophia Museum blue paint dominates the upper floors of the interior. And there are more than 200 windows with distinctive designs, which reflect blue light with chandeliers into the interior of the mosque. The chandeliers contain an ostrich egg, which helps prevent spider webs from being stationed in the mosque. The walls include decorations from the verses of the Qur’an, which is considered one of the most beautiful fonts by Mr. Qasim al-Jabari.

The floors are covered with carpets donated by loyalists in the era of the Ottoman Empire as gifts. The mosque is characterized by large windows, which give an impression of the grandeur of the architectural design at that time. In the upper part of the mosque, there are five windows in each corner, some of which are shaded. Each semi-dome contains 14 windows, and the ornate windows in the central dome 28 were a gift from Venice from the Sultana Signoria, these windows were later replaced by modern versions no longer of artistic value as before

The most important element of the mosque is the mihrab made of carved marble and a panel with double inscriptions. Surrounded by many windows, the adjacent walls are covered with ceramic tiles. To the right of the mihrab is a pulpit richly decorated, where the sermon takes place every Friday and on holy days the mosque was designed so that everyone in the mosque could see and hear the imam even when it was crowded

The Sultan's Suites are located in the southeast corner. It consists of a podium, a balcony, and two small rooms, providing access to the royal corridor in the hallway. These rooms became the center of the Grand Vizier during the suppression of the rebel Legion Jansry Crops in 1826. The Royal Armory is supported by ten marble columns. It has its mihrab decorated with ancient jade roses and gilded decorations, and it has a koran in a gilded face. Many of the lamps in the mosque were covered with gold and precious stones, including glass bowls, ostrich eggs, and crystal balls. All these decorations were removed for museums.
